Sir Bob’s presence in Madang special

I AM humbled to see Governor-General Grand Chief Sir Bob Dadae and his wife celebrating the Independence Anniversary in my province, Madang.
It reminds me of one of the province’s most significant and historical visit by Spain’s Prince Adelbert to Madang in 1700s.
Prince Adelbert sailed into Nibilol harbour (now Sarang harbour) and met the Kebdagin tribe.
He lived with them for some time and named the Bobsu Mountain Range after his own name.
Having Queen Elizabeth’s representative celebrating Independence with us is something special.
