Sir Pita Lus deserved better

Letters

IT is a disgrace that Ambunti-Dreikikier MP Johnson Wapunai, as the district development authority chairman, did not pay his respects during the haus krai of one of the founding fathers of the Haus Tambaran (Parliament)
and the pioneer member for Dreikikier-Wosera in the first House of Assembly, the late Sir Pita Lus.
Sir Pita was the first member for Dreikikier and he should be given the recognition and respect he deserves.
Not one representative of the district office paid tribute or offered their condolences.
Sir Pita was the hero and an anointed leader with great wisdom for peace and unity.
He had a track record of placing Dreikikier on the political map.
Such a patriotic leader deserves the full respect from the Ambunti-Dreikikier office.
Wapunai and his administration is playing an ignorant game with
our brother electorate in which we share a common electoral boundary and culture and this is a big disgrace.
