SME women get K1 million

Business

Madang Governor Peter Yama has given K1 million to women’s small to medium-sized enterprises in the province.
He gave the money to the provincial government business arm, Ramu Development Foundation, to run SME programmes for the women.
Another K50,000 was given to the Madang Women’s SME Association.
Yama said a team of women from Madang would be travelling to Thailand to learn how SMEs work. They will train others when they return.
Yama said SMEs have a strong effect on families’ standard of living and can eliminate poverty.
