NOMINATIONS for the 2012 Moni Plus Port Moresby Billiards Open championships are now open.
Port Moresby Billiards and Snooker association public relations officer John Chan said yesterday that the tournament would be held from July 18 to 22 at the Port Moresby Country Club.
“Nomination and registration is K100 per player and this is an open event where women can also participate, Chan said.
He said that nomination and registration is on a first-come-first- serve basis and no late nominations will be entertained.
“Billiards may not be as popular and high profile as snooker but the amount of interest it has generated is a good sign that this part of the cue-sport is growing and is still popular among snooker players,” Chan said.
“The response we have had has been overwhelming over the past few years therefore we will accept the first 24 that register,” he added.
