Social media

Letters

AS a student I would like to stress more on social media and other negative trends that hold young Papua New Guinean’s back.
Firstly, social media is anything that we have access to information and any updates or news.
Having social media is one of the good thing that ease our way of communication and instead saves time and money.
There are different types of social media, such as Facebook.
The purpose of Facebook is to make the world more open and connected. People use Facebook to stay connected with friends and family, discover what’s going on in the world and share and express what matters to them.
Despite this, the young people of PNG have several accounts on Facebook where they login and abuse the true purpose of Facebook.
They access FB at any time, add any people they wish, like up to approximately about 3,000 friends to be a Facebook famous, thinking that more friends mean more likes and comments.
Looking back in the current situation, a new generation of leaders must build the quality and effectiveness of national institutions.
At the same time they need to demonstrate tangible improvements to the delivery of health and education services and to law and justice. Turning negative trends into positive ones will require some fundamental changes in approach by the next generation of PNG’s leaders.
The running and progression of this country depends on young Papua New Guineans. Our country is determined by how we live, behave and conduct.
As all of us know, none of our leader will still be maintained his/her position, as time comes old retires and new takes over.
This can be compared to as water cycle. It repeats itself over and over.
On the other hand many young Papua New Guineans are involved in other things like; alcoholism, street vandalism, etc other than church activities.
How can PNG be developed in the future?
Let’s stand together as one and run our country ourselves.
Our behavior can give an opportunity for wild dogs to run our country.
Come let’s fly our flag with pride and dignity.
