GAZELLE’S women’s softball team received a new set of jersey, gloves, bats and helmets from Moni Plus Ltd yesterday.
Moni Plus has been sponsoring the Gazelle men’s and women’s teams for eight years in the Port Moresby Men’s and Women’s Softball Association competitions.
Head of sales and marketing Atish Das said Moni Plus would continue to support the club throughout the year. “Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, everything has shut down, but we look forward to (see the competition) resume after Easter,” Das said.
“I wish my team all the best as I’m sure they will not let Moni Plus down and we look forward to supporting them throughout the year.”
Gazelle interim president Gabriel Pamel Jr acknowledged Moni Plus for continuing their sponsorship for another year.
“I’m grateful that Moni Plus has come onboard again and this time getting the new uniforms for our B-Grade women who have been doing well in the competition for the last two to three years,” he said.
“We started competing in 1979 and this year will be the 42nd year for the club itself, so it’s really an achievement for us.”
“The competition was suspended two weeks ago, but we are hopeful that there should be clearance after Easter for the men’s and women’s competitions to resume.”
