THE East New Britain Rugby Football Union (ENBRFU) was given a huge boost by Pacific Industries with new jerseys for its clubs.

The presentation of the uniforms was made last Saturday at the Maltech Oval in Rabaul when the nine ENBRFU clubs were presented by PI’s general manager Greg Farrel.

Farrel said PI was more than happy to come on board and support rugby union in the province.

“We are proud to step in and assist. By supporting the code through our sponsorship, we hope that we can make everyone a champion,” Farrel said.

The GoGo Cola makers are no strangers to the sport as they are also the naming right sponsors for Port Moresby based Nova Rugby Football Union club.

The nine clubs that received uniforms are Redskins, Cardinals, Rookies, Vikings, Barbarians, Piggies, Harlequins, Royals and Diggers.

ENBRFU president Tony Namur said an additional three clubs have also expressed interest in participating in their sevens competition which has already started.

Namur thanked Farrel and PI for taking the initiative.

Namur said it would also boost the morale of the code in the province as it is slowly picking up interest in the schools through the Pacific in Union Rugby4Schools programme.
