A SQUAD of 68 soldiers arrived in Vanimo, West Sepik, on Monday to help maintain surveillance and security at the border with Indonesia.
Chief of Staff Capt Philip Polewara said Maj Raymond Paki would be in charge of the medical officers and soldiers.
Lt-Col Raphael Yapu also thanked the soldiers for observing the 14-day isolation period after returning from Townsville, Australia.
“It is not only to show that we are following measures put in place, but also to show our duty of care to our men and women in service and our families as well,” he said.
The soldiers will join troops currently on deployment along the border.
