THE soldiers who attacked Boroko policemen on Nov 22 are now being investigated by police, National Capital District Met Supt Gideon Ikumu says. “The soldiers were brought in for investigations and those found involved will be charged accordingly,” he said.
“They were brought in earlier this week for their statements to be recorded.” He said the policemen involved in the fight with the soldiers had been identified, arrested and charged in court.
Police Comm David Manning and the then-Defence Force commander Maj-Gen Gilbert Toropo, after the incident, in a press conference, said the police and the army would always work together to deliver their services to the people and nation.
Comm Manning told the media that the officers would be dealt with accordingly.
“The individual officers will not tarnish the good relationship that the discipline forces have,” he said.
