Sort out issues with casino

Letters

I AM cautioning the National Gaming Control Board and the Government on the potential damages into hundreds of millions of kina upon the state if it does not clear all the mess created by their predecessors for not facilitating the process of issuing a casino licence to the failed Boroko casino hotel.
Why did the state and its institutions failed to issue a casino licence in the first place to enable the investor to complete the project?
Would it not be a conditional requirement for domestic and international lenders to sight a copy of the casino licence before bridging the financing gap?
It may have forced those involved to burn up K60 million of their hard cash equity funds on the current structure.
The stalemate resulted in the controversial chance of ownership, which is another mess to be cleared as well.
