Sort out payslips

Letters

TEACHERS are still facing problems concerning a simple personal document called “payslip”.
This slip of paper is very important in a sense that all the teachers’ personal details surrounding their fortnight pays are detailed on it.
Vital deductions are shown and made every two weeks in a financial year.
Unfortunately teachers could not easily have access to their payslips because they’re being made to pay for them.
Also a mobile application called the “The Department of Education Tisa Payslip” (e – My Payslip) downloaded from Google Play Store doesn’t seem to be operational or working.
Teachers should create their own password to access this service and not having to locate a school inspector to register.
At this age of technology personal information such as passwords cannot be disseminated to another person or created by that person no matter who that person is.
The Department of Education should readjust this service making sure teachers are in greater control of their own personal information.
On that note, it is frustrating to see an Asian owned company operating at the DJ Haus in Goroka allegedly printing out and charging K8.60 for a payslip.
They’re also printing out latest and current payslips for teachers.
Anyone who has access to any teachers file number could easily have access to a payslip which can be used for suspicious activities.
In return tarnishing a teachers’ reputation and could end up in the court of law.
It is a great wonder if this Asian owned company is a subsidiary of the Education Department having contracted to printout payslips.
And who is giving away something that’s supposed to be given to teachers freely are being sold for money?
Who is sharing the profits made?
Or is this a legitimate policy of conducting a normal business whereby teachers’ payslip files could be accessed and sold in shops? Very confusing indeed and very funny too.
Someone should be held accountable for their silly actions.
