Eastern Highlands Governor Julie Soso will be calling a forum in Goroka for all leaders in the province to attend and discuss ways to fight corruption.
And she has urged public servants and other leaders to observe and uphold principles of transparency and accountability in the province.
“The discussions would focus on how best we can stop corruption in the province,” Soso said.
“I would invite all the eight elected MPs and the 24 local level government presidents to be present in the forum and they would give their statements to the people on their work so far.”
Soso also condemned a recent statement by Goroka MP Bire Kimisopa which blamed her for the current turmoil in the provincial public service.
She said such statements in the period leading up to the general election were “politics at play now”.
She said she would continue to fight for good governance in the province despite lack of support from the male politicians in the province.
She challenged Kimisopa and Henganofi MP Robert Atiyafa to leave their electorates and contest the provincial seat in 2017.
