SP Hunters need height

Letters

First of all, as a die-hard SP Hunters fan I would like to congratulate PNG NRL Management for re-appointing Matthew Church as Hunter’s coach for another season, congratulations.
On the same token, appreciation goes to Paul Aiton and the new assistant coach Stanley Tepend.
Having reappointed Church is wonderful the fact that he has strings and connections in Australia rugby league fraternity which has demonstrated Hunters players not only playing rugby at the highest level but also involved in educational skills as a long term goal.
That is really appreciated from the Church.
Church has also arranged with Hunters players to play in A grade team in Sunshine Coast Rugby League club to keep their fitness.
This is another milestone achievement.
Having said that, as die-hard fans and supporters, we know exactly what players in IntrustCup look like in terms of body psyche.
Players are all tall and have the built and composer that keeps them fit and strong.
Our message to our good coach Church and his assistant coaches is that, if the Hunters are to win or be in the top 5 in the 2022 season, we want players to have height, weight and other attributes to make them strong against their opponents.
Please don’t select players with no height.
Height seems to be a problem with Hunters players.
We have many players with height who are overlooked.
Church, this is very true because from your one year assessment you will agree with us that opponents’ players take advantage of our players’ height in terms of high ball kick and off-loading pass which many times cost Hunters game.
We don’t want this to be repeated in the 2022 season.
If it means to recall former players with height in the likes of Bland Abavu, please do so.
Abavu has potential to be scouted by any NRL club if he continues to play with the Hunters.
