I REFER to the tussle for the prime minister’s post between Sir Michael So­mare and Peter O’Neill.
To my understanding, the judiciary’s responsibi­lity is to interpret the law as it should be and make re­commendations to parliament, which can then deliberate on the issue and advise the governor-ge­neral the next course of action.
It is to my understanding the governor-general takes advice from the speaker and parliament, not the Supreme Court.
