Sports Foundation sets goals for rural areas

PAPUA New Guinea Sports Foundation (PNGSF) acting executive director Peter Tsiamalili Junior is taking on a hands on approach to ensure they execute what they planned for this year.
Tsiamalili made the remark to emphasis his seriousness in delivering their core activities for their national and regional programmes that was recently launched as part of their 2014 Sports programme calendar.
The new direction has been forced upon to re-ignite dormant officers in the regional offices to implement their programmes in the rural communities.
In its first roll-out activities, four programmes will be conducted.
l Youth Sport at Hisiu, Central
l  Pikinini Sport in Mariawatte in Suau, Milne Bay
l Partnership programme in Namatanai, New Ireland
l  Ability sport at Lombrum Naval Base, Manus.
 “I will back my officers to ensure we deliver what we planned for,” he said yesterday.
He said these programmes must be collectively done with all stakeholders playing their part and he is confident that the respective Governors and provincial administrations will be proactive.
“Working closely with heads of provinces must be accorded highly as taking ownership of the programmes and follow-ups will be an integeral part to foresee the growth of the activity and its outcomes,” Tsiamalili said.
