Stand united, serve country’s interests

Letters

I AM fed up watching the political turmoil that creates lack of stability in the Government, especially when the country is sailing through an economic crisis.
Even after the ruling coalition was with majority in the beginning, some greedy, power-hungry politicians wanted to topple down the Government for personal gains.

Some greedy, power-hungry leaders just danced to the tune to join any side thinking of the peanuts they might get before the next election.
Now is the time we contribute ideas and constructive criticism to support the Government to start our mining projects such as Papua LNG, Wafi Golpu, Porgera and others to stabilise the economy and expand developments.
It’s a difficult time where the country is going through financial crisis and lacks internal revenue.
We are living on borrowed money from the World Bank, ADB, EU and China Aid.
Our natural resources such as gas and oil will remain useless when the world moves with eco-friendly energies and technologies such as solar energy, wind energy, electric cars and automobiles to avoid pollutions in coming decades.
We have humongous volume of untapped natural resources.
We need to tap into it and sell before the world stops using fossil fuels or before it gets cheaper in the market.
Otherwise, we will remain underdeveloped for coming years too.
Our villages will be without necessary services such as electricity, road, health centres etc.
We are like a disembodied genie who guards the treasure of our gas and oil embracing them untapped.
During the PNG LNG construction period, the forex rate was at its highest, many real estate companies, hotel business, logistic companies, local SMEs sub-contractors all benefitted from that.
The same should have happened in 2018, ‘19 and this year, if all leaders stood united for the nation’s interest.
Instead, they are fighting for the bones as stray dogs.
Don’t forget, PNG is not the same anymore. Our bureaucrats, public servants, university students, high school students and primary school students are educated to know about politician’s failure as they read the news, watch the TV and listen to the radio.
If you don’t stand together for the welfare of the nation, don’t expect to see the corridors of the parliament anymore.
Don’t think you will walk through the corridors as a king waving your hands to the cameras.
Our people are powerful and intending candidates are smarter than you guys.
We will see 111 new faces in the parliament in 2022.
Members of the Opposition, my appeal is join the Government and serve the interest of your people.
Marape, please forgive and accept any member who wants to return to your Government.
Give them portfolios according to their strength and abilities to support you sail the nation forward.
Forgiveness is always the way forward.
You’ve appointed a smart leader, Bryan Kramer by giving him an important ministry to use his ability to stabilise a much-cluttered police department.
He is doing his job extremely well.

Whistle blower,
Pom

  • TheNational and your EDITOR,
Why are you filtering letters only for the positive story about the govt and not the opposition? This is a democratic country and let our voices be heard.
Are you being funded by this current govt? Tok stret! Sapos nogat, be fair to everyone!
