Stop giving public funds to individuals

Letters

THERE are rumours that some MPs are dishing out public monies unwisely to certain individuals and paper contractors to carry out projects in their electorates.
As taxpayers, we have the right to know how our monies are spent.
It seems some large sums of money have been allocated for projects that are yet to be started.
To our MPs, these monies should be spent in the best interest and the benefit of your people regardless of whether they are your voters or not.
Public monies should not be given to only a handful of individuals.
We all know the meaning of the words “acquittals” and “transparency”.
If these monies are from the Treasury Department, then we all have the right to know how it is spent.
The national general elections are just around the corner, so remember, what you do today will determine your future political career in your electorates.
