THE East New Britain Students Association of the University of Papua New Guinea has received merchandise from Digicel in support of their provincial day next month.
The students’ association was presented 50 T-shirts and 25 back-to-school bags in Port Moresby recently.
The T-shirts will be worn by the members of the organising committee to identify them during the event, while the bags will be used to carry documents for the event.
Association representative Joseph Totabu said: “Digicel has been a great help to a lot of events and its support in our provincial day is much appreciated as this annual event signifies the values and preservations of our rich cultural heritage.”
The East New Britain provincial day is an annual event and in the capital city it is organised by the students association of the university.
The theme for this year’s provincial day is Sustaining and preserving my culture, my identity, my life.
It is set to attract hundreds of city residents with traditional singsing groups, string bands, whip dancing and live band performance from East New Britain’s new artist Junior Leonard Kania and the legendary Tolai rock star; George Telek.
The ENB provincial day will be held on Sept 15 at the Bisi softball grounds in Boroko, Port Moresby.
