Students paying adult bus fare in NCD

THIS is a letter to the Independent Consumer & Competition Commission (ICCC) and relevant authorities who are responsible for transport fares in Port Moresby and the country.
It’s been almost two years or so. I can recall that no fares for school children had been approved by ICCC. Whether it’s being approved or not we are yet to know.
The school children are paying adult bus fare and this is very unfair treatment.
Can ICCC make this known since the academic year started last week?
The issue is also with the bus crews who yell at school children to pay adult fare.
The fact is that school children do not know how much to pay so they pay according to what bus crews tell them to pay, so basically, they pay the same as adult fare.
So, we are not distinguishing school children from adults, isn’t it? Whose fault is that? Only in PNG school children are paying as adult fares. Crazy isn’t it.
Relevant authorities failed to execute their role and this is the result of this.
