STUDENTS from Catholic schools in Port Moresby have produced eight short films to narrate stories and spread messages of hope in homes and communities during the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.
During an international short film festival in Port Moresby on Saturday, students participating in a media education seminar were given the opportunity to become critical consumers and creative producers.
Catholic Bishop Conference of PNG and the Solomon Islands social communication secretary Fr Ambrose Pereira said the film festival gave an opportunity to students to show what they had learnt through short films.
The seminars provided them a platform to share their ideas and interact positively.
“The students learnt to spread hope through print media by writing articles, capturing pictures, audio and video which unleash their creativity and talent,” he said.
“Students have put a lot of hard work, commitment and discipline in every post, article and video to send out positive messages to the community that there is hope during difficult times and influence the lives of others.”
