GRADE eight students at the Markham Road Primary School on Friday staged an advertising day representing different businesses in Lae.
It was part of their personal development lesson in which they were assessed.
The school has almost 300 students in six grade 8 classes.
The event began last year.
Teacher Marie Kanini said the personal development lesson talked about advertisement programmes. The idea was to instil confidence in the students during public presentations.
“In this activity, the students can understand what the different kinds of products that collaborate with health and hygiene and go under personal development,” Kanini said.
“We tell them to do an advertising that involves company logos, slogans, and other product poster.
“The students picked a company.
“The school writes to the companies to also participate during the open day.
“We also put up fashion parade to conclude the personal development activities where marks were awarded also.”
