Students receive help with fees

TERTIARY students from four local level governments (LLG) – Oksapmin, Namea, Yapsie and Telefomin – have received school fee assistance from the Telefomin development authority despite the suspension of Telefomin MP Solan Mirisim.
Districts’ major projects such as the Tabubil-Olsobip-Telefomin-Oksapmin road project, Edwaki High School in Namea LLG and the school fee assistance programme including other small ongoing projects that were approved before Mirisim’s suspension will proceed as planned.
A Divine Word University St Benedicts Teachers College (Wewak) student Naitz Dipop said it was a great help for them and their poor parents.
“Especially the ones who are back at home where they cannot afford to come up with the school fees,” Dipop said.
