EIGHT students from the University of PNG have travelled to Milne Bay to reach out to local communities to preach the Gospel of Jesus.
The group is comprised of two females and six males who are in their second, third and final years at different schools of UPNG.
They are part of the Young Missionary Alliance Inc’, whose slogan is,’Manifesting God’s Love in PNG Communities’.
Team leader and president Clement Kemokemo said the purpose of the visit was to reach out to local people and school children with the Good News of Jesus Christ.
“Most of the people are focused on Apec preparations,” he said.
Kemokemo quoted from Mathew 28:19-20 reads: “Go and teach all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.”
He thanked Youth with a Mission (YWAM), Young Missionary Alliance Inc, UPNG Tertiary Students Christian Fellowship (TSCF) and family members for making the trip possible.
Kemokemo said the team would travel to one of the main islands of Kiriwina to host a crusade for two months.
He said they hope many people would change their lives.
