KUNDIAWA-based Tema Mart supermarket was the first business house in Chimbu to deliver relief supplies for those affected by the Kegesuglo landslide.
Company representative Brown Siwi delivered food, blankets and other basic items to the people.
Siwi expressed the company’s shock at the disaster which claimed 10 lives and passed on their sympathies to the families of the dead and those whose homes, gardens and property, including livestock and fish ponds, were destroyed.
He said the company wanted to do its part to help the people rebuild their lives and move back to normalcy.
Wandike ward councillor Norbert Bare, Mt Wilhelm Secondary School deputy principals Paul Ulka and Agnes Kawagle thanked the company for its assistance at a time of need.
The people also thanked Siwi for his efforts on behalf of the company.
Among the dead was a long serving cook and a senior teacher at Mt Wilhelm secondary school and members of their families.
It is believed the landslide occurred as a result of prolonged heavy rainfall in the area.
The Kundiawa-Gembogl district administration and Simbu provincial government also delivered relief assistance earlier this week.
Kundiawa-Gembogl MP William Onglo said he would pay for the funeral expenses of the victims.
