Support school inspectors

Letters

LOCAL MPs should support the work of school inspectors in order to improve the standard of education in their districts.
School inspectors play pivotal roles in supervising teaching and learning in the public school system.
They enforce Government policies, and supervise the implementation thereof by teachers and boards of management of every school.
Despite the crucial role they play, school inspectors encounter many challenges.
Most of them do not have proper housing at their places of work.
Some do not even have offices to operate from.
Funding and logistical supports for them to effectively execute their duties are often non-existent.
Even then, school inspectors display maturity and professionalism at all costs.
They work with diligence and loyalty for two things: Education of the children and professional development of the teachers under their responsibilities.
I believe that with a little support from each district development authority and provincial government, school inspectors will perform their duties more efficiently, thus boosting education standards of the districts.
