Suspect shot dead after cop killed

FOUR suspects have been apprehended and another shot dead after a policeman was murdered at Hobu in the Nabak local level government area of Nawaeb district in Morobe a week ago.
According to provincial police commander Superintendent Alex N’Drasal, one of the two prime suspects was shot dead yesterday. The other was shot dead when the policeman was murdered last Wednesday.
He said the one killed yesterday had been on the run when the community rounded him up and handed him over to police early yesterday.
Prior to the suspect being brought to police, he was caught and chopped by community members through frustration caused by what police had done to them and their properties, N’Drasal said
N’Drasal thanked Nawaeb MP Kennedy Wenge and community leaders and members for their assistance.
“With all the suspects now in police custody, a full investigation will be conducted into the murder of Senior Constable Ben Melvin,” he said.
