JIMI MP Wake Goi says public servants at the Tabibuga station will be receiving support to carry out their duties and responsibilities.
“I promise you that I will buy a vehicle and office material to help you in your work,” he told them in a recent briefing at the station.
Goi, who is Minister for Community Development, Youth and Religion, said politics was one reason that prevented him from visiting them and “this should not be repeated by candidates of supporters”.
“Politics and elections come every after five years, but services should not be prevented from reaching the people,” he said.
“Since I am here, I will continue to make my presence felt and see what I can do as an elected leader.
“Jimi is one of the very complicated electorates in the country geographically because it is mountainous and the weather is unpredictable.
“Because of this, the important area to focus on is to equip public servants and look at the roads.”
Goi said Tabibuga was run down because of the lack of leadership.
“I was willing to come here, but because of politics, I was turned away on many occasions,” he said, adding that would be giving more attention to the station and fund maintenance needs. He said everyone should urged the people to play their part together.
