Tabubil youth celebrate day

YOUTHS in the mining township of Tabubil in North Fly, Western, competed in volleyball matches to celebrate the United Nations International Youth Day last Sunday.
Tabubil’s indoor stadium came alive with more than 150 church youths competing in the event organised by the Western Flalok Netball Club and supported by Tawap Kamen Investment (TKI) Limited.
Youths were encouraged to be good citizens and get involved in activities that were good for their education, community, family and future.
They were also encouraged to behave themselves, and appreciate the love and respect people give them.
The three winning teams were each presented a carton of drink.
Meanwhile, the club will be competing at the upcoming biannual Pan Pacific Masters Games on the Gold Coast, Australia, from the Nov 2-11.
The club is made up of women from Tabubil and other provinces.
The club has been visiting hospitals and the Ninegerum Correctional Services as part of its obligation to the community.
