PEOPLE of Lae, who only see an international trade fair once in a blue moon, will have a chance to view one when the Taiwan Trade Fair is held at the PNG Forest Research Institute today and tomorrow.

The Taiwan External Trade Development Council will lead a trade delegation of 20 well-established Taiwanese suppliers representing various industries to Lae to conduct exhibitions and other business-related activities.

Taiwan is home to key manufacturers and suppliers of electronics, IT components, semi-conductors, photovoltaic applications, car electronics, auto parts, motor cycles, bicycles, industrial machinery and equipment, and mould-and-die work.

“This upcoming trip aims at furthering trade relations between Taiwan and PNG,” Taiwan Trade Mission representative Daniel Hu told reporters in Port Moresby.

He said they would present a wide range of promotional materials and catalogues representing Taiwan’s key business sectors, and at the same time, offer useful tips on how to do business with Taiwan.

“We, welcome any PNG enterprise interested in knowing about Taiwan’s businesses, and invite them to take advantage of this chance to learn about the many business prospects that are available on the island and negotiate on possible business cooperation.”
