Talasea lights up after hydro-plant opens

THE people of Talasea district in West New Britain will enjoy an uninterrupted electricity supply after the commissioning of a new hydro-plant yesterday.
The Lovo hydro-plant is in the East Nakanai local level government in Bialla.
It was commissioned by Minister for State Enterprises Sasindran Muthuvel, West New Britain Governor Francis Maneke, PNG Power Ltd acting chief executive officer Douglas Mageo and acting managing director of Kumul Consolidated Holdings Parkop Kurua.
People of Bialla can expect to have uninterrupted power supply while adding to the Kimbe Power grid.
The project was funded by the Asian Development Bank, New Zealand and the Papua New Guinea Government.
