Taurama Wolfpack sink Six-Mile Crows to win Cup, K20,000

TAURAMA Wolfpack sank 6-Mile Crows 20-6 to claim the Justin Tkatchenko Cup and K20,000 in the Moresby South Rugby League A-grade grand final at Moresby South Stadium on Sunday.
Halfback Maxwell John’s performance earned him the man-of-the-match award for his two try assists.
His combination with five-eighth Michael Timothy and hooker Mala Kua was crucial against Crows who settled for K10,000.
Skipper Raegan Naipao said the trio were quick around the ruck area which paved the way for two tries each in either side of the half.
Wolfpack led 8-6 at halftime.
Fullback Obert Muri converted two goals and centre Emmanuel Herea picked up a double. Halfback Lote Kuman scored Crows’ only points via a converted try.
Wolfpack veteran Yoks Bagave said: “It was great win. We may come from all over the country, but rugby league enables us to speak one language.”
