Teacher charged with sodomy

A 43-YEAR-OLD primary school head teacher has been charged with sodomy by East New Britain police for allegedly abusing three male students from his school.
East New Britain police commander Snr Insp Joseph Tabali told The National that the teacher from Gazelle on different occasions this year allegedly committed the offence after inviting them to his house.
Tabali said the students did not report the matter to their parents or the police because the teacher gave them money and told them not to report it.
However, last Friday he allegedly tried to do the same to another male student but the student refused, ran away and reported it to his parents.
The matter was then reported to police.
“The teacher usually ask the students to go with him to his house after school and stay with him in the night.
“He usually uses the school-issued laptop and puts on pornographic movies for the students before making attempts to abuse them,” Tabali said.
“I am now calling on all the students to report to police such things because it is not right and is also against the law.
“The parents must always talk to their kids to find out if they were treated well in school.”
