Teachers’ college appointments

Madang Teachers’ College academic staff appointments for 2018 are in a state of limbo.
The appointment process also involves a fiasco over appointment of its principal. This is the result of the college former administration’s failure in administering due diligence, and timely process in meeting the national teacher education appointment process and requirements for the college
As a result, one-third of academic staff have not been offered any acting appointments for the academic year by the Teachers’ Education headquarters at Waigani.
It will certainly affect the smooth commencement of the academic year beginning this month.
Furthermore, the college is currently faced with an enormous amount of unsettled bills for water connection to students’ boarding and accommodation facilities.
This is a very urgent appeal to the Acting Secretary for Education, Teacher Education, Teaching Service Commission and the PNG Teachers’ Association general-secretary to intervene and address the situation.
