MORE than 300 elementary school teachers from Bulolo and Huon districts in Morobe, are now able to provide a more quality-focused education for their students.
This was made possible through a K40,000 sponsorship from Hidden Valley Joint Venture, operator of the Hidden Valley mine and one of three joint ventures that make up Morobe Mining Joint Ventures (MMJV).
The 301 teachers were part of 800 who graduated last month in Markham Farm outside Lae.
The training was facilitated by the Morobe provincial education division, with the support of the Education Department.
Morobe provincial elementary teachers training coordinator, Haring Qoreka paid tribute to their successes and reminded them about the important role they played in nurturing young minds to become productive future citizens.
MMJV community and regional programme manager Benjamin Kamaya said the company was happy to work with the provincial and district education divisions to ensure teachers gave children the opportunity to get a quality education.
The new self-instructional unit-trainer director training ensured more teachers were trained and able to fulfil the Outcome-Based Education policy for schools in the country.
The four-week training included newly graduated teachers and those already in the field.
