Teachers happy with appointments

Letters

THE Eastern Highlands primary and secondary teacher appointments for 2021 year was done well and on time.
Many of the hardworking teachers were rewarded accordingly.
Some teachers have been promoted to the higher levels and others were moved to their desired locations.
The posting has boosted teachers’ morals.
Attracting and embracing teachers will help achieve quality education in the province.
Some teachers were posted to schools that they did not choose.
Teacher postings should be based on teachers’ choices.
Most teachers are confused and reluctant to take up their position in their new schools because they are not prepared to take up their posts.
The teacher appointment committee should take heed of real circumstances that are faced by teachers and ensure they are properly served.
Demoting them to lower ranking positions is bad for teachers.
Those who were given acting positions later insisted that appointments were not done according to the principles of appointment.
Teachers may end up refusing to take up acting positions and eventually forced to leave teaching without pay.
Every teacher deserves to be treated as professionals rather than being systematically treated as failures.
I urge those who feel that they were not treated fairly by the appointment committee to make a formal appeal to the committee to look at their posting again.
