Teachers in Wuvulu calls for assistance
WE the six teachers at Wuvulu in Manus, would like to voice our concern on the problems we face.
Every year, the Education Department dumps us at Wuvulu at the beginning of the academic year and no boat is sent to pick us at the end of the year.
How do you expect us to come out for holidays?
Does the Manus Education office have any plans?
We have decided that we will find our own way out but next year, we will not go back to teach until the department gives us fuel to return at the end of the year.

Another example of how, beyond the city limits, teachers are largely posted and forgotten. It was forever thus but seems to be increasingly the case.
