Teachers issues remain unsolved

Letters

MANY teacher issues are still pending and not been solved by the Teaching Service Commission (TSC).
Teachers have been fronting TSC offices throughout the 2018 school holiday to sort out their issues.
TSC told teachers at the end of December to return on Jan 7 to get their answers.
When the teachers went there, they were told teachers to go back on Thursday.
On Thursday, TSC said come on Friday. On Friday, they said come Monday. Monday, when teachers came, they said come tomorrow.
All teachers will resume work on Jan 21 and have four days remaining to have their issues solved.
It seems that we officers working at TSC who have no sympathy for the simple teachers.
Most of these teachers come from all corners of PNG.
Their issues are pending issues which have not been solved at provincial level and by TSC.
Some of the teachers have been teaching without pay for one to three years.
During the school holiday, these teachers have been living with relatives in the city and spending the little money they have.
On behalf of all concerned teachers, we appeal to TSC to assist them before this Friday.
