Teachers urged to follow guides

PRIMARY school teachers in the Duke of York Islands, East New Britain, need to comply with National School Minimum Standard (NSMS) 2018- 2023 Policy guidelines through the standards based curriculum (SBC), an official says.
Kokopo education coordinator John Nelson said this during a SBC training session for the Kokopo inspectorate schools at Kabian Primary School in the Duke of York Islands on Tuesday.
He said the NSMS had been set by the Department of Education and the minimum standards and compliance had to be followed at all times by teachers.
The Kokopo administration is taking on board the SBC programme to improve the education and standards to be acquired by teachers in the district.
He said Kokopo was still behind Rabaul district in its implementation of NSMS.
He thanked the Kokopo 2 inspectorate for facilitating the SBC training as a way forward in enhancing and improving teaching.
