Team raises K500,000

TEAM Central raised K500,000 during a corporate dinner at the Dynasty Restaurant in Port Moresby for their participation at the PNG Games on Saturday.
Central have a target budget of K1.5 million to send a 500-strong contingent of players and officials.
Central Governor Kila Haoda, who is patron of the team, was happy with the response from the corporate sector and challenged the team to maintain the high standard they set at the 2014 event in Lae, where they finished second to hosts Morobe with 112 medals (43 gold). Coaches and team managers said the athletes would be ready for the games, having already started training.
