Team to query deals on bridge project

 AN audit team engaged by the Department of Works will work with the Task Force Sweep team to inquire into the deals surrounding the Yumi Yet Bridge Programme. 

Works Minister Francis Awesa and secretary David Wereh yesterday announced the audit during a media conference, saying it would begin work next Monday.

Awesa said based on reports, the team would carry out an investigation into the operation of the programme and use of the facilities.

He said they would investigate whether or not materials paid by the state were transferred to a private company and if so, why.

The team will comprise a lawyer, two works engineer and an accountant.
