RURAL Tech Development (RTD) launched a new product called the Long Range Technology, and Internet Of Things (IOT).
RTD managing director Shahram Honarzad said this during the recent Innovation PNG summit in Port Moresby.
“All internet has a gateway, that is where you send and receive the data and collect your data, you also send it to Cloud,” he said.
RTD was also announced as the best innovative booth during the summit.
“Because we are using this technology called the Long Range, there needs to be a gateway and for our company we are providing the gateway for all using long range technology, which means that it is a cheap internet, it works on a long range.”
Honarzad said technology was already available in PNG that could serve and address all issues in security, logistics etc and it was up to PNG to embrace innovation.
“Like your mobile is connected to a wifi but your mobile can only be connected within a range or area but if we are using a device called a long range than it will work on up to 4km range,” he said.
“It doesn’t matter whether it is up or down, that device has different types of sensors, it has light, water. An example would include a remote control gate where you can control it through a mobile application app when arriving.
