Police in Manus arrested two juveniles, aged 15 and 17, for stealing two solar panel street lights in Lorengau town last month.
Commander Chief Inspector David Yapu said one of them climbed up a pole and removed the solar panels.
The theft was reported to police and the solar panels were recovered by a ward councillor who handed the panels over to the police.
Both the juveniles will appear in Lorengau Juvenile court soon.
Yapu said the provincial government invested much on streetlights and urged people from Ward 1 to Ward 7 to appreciate the facility and not steal or damage them.
