Telikom Papua New Guinea backed group A of the Oceania Football Confederation Champions League with K50,000 worth of free Wi-Fi with unlimited bandwidth services at the Sir John Guise Stadium in Port Moresby from Feb 14-23.
Telikom took a positive step to support local organising committee (LOC) and the Papua New Guinea Football Association (PNGFA) to disseminate results with ease with the help of its services.
Telikom commercial head Amos Tepi said the commitment included equipment cost and support staff on the ground. “The Wi-Fi network will be available for the public to use during matches so people can come to the field and utilise the opportunity,” he said.
Tepi also called on the public to support LOC and PNGFA by purchasing tickets for the games.
PNGFA secretary Dimirit Mileng thanked Telikom for its support.
“We are so fortunate to have Telikom on board,” Mileng said.
“Telikom is giving us the opportunity to televise the game throughout the world and make it available through Facebook and other means.”
