TELSTARS booked the first grand-final berth with a 49-45 victory against the Sparrows in the Port Moresby Netball Association premier division at the Rita Flynn Indoor Complex on Saturday.
The major semifinal saw the lead changing hands on several occasions in the final quarter.
However, minor premiers Telstars held their nerve to book their 40th grand-final appearance.
With their premiership in 2014, Telstars are warming to the task at the right time.
Sparrows now meet Snax Mermaids, who beat City Pharmacy Rebels 61-44, for another shot at the grand final.
Telstars hit the front in the first three quarters through shooters Eva Aua and veteran Gamini Koroka, who stepped for the unwell Boio Peter.
Both had to work extra hard with young Aua taking a leading role in potting the vital points.
On the other side, Sparrows’ Mary Leka Jr combined well with regular defender Courtney Abel in attack.
But both were given hard time by opposition defenders Julianne Diro, Raka Nope and Ravusiro Vali.
