PUBLIC Service Minister Sir Puka Temu described the Gazelle Restoration Authority (GRA) in East New Britain as an effective delivery model that provinces can use as a template to help development.

He said GRA should not be discarded.

“We need to learn from GRA as it has over the years built its capacity technically and was able to manage funds given to it by the government to deliver outcomes that the ENB provincial government and districts requested,” Temu said.

“If we have similar GRA type structures in every province, maybe a development authority in every province, I think we can partner the public service and focus on essential service delivery,” he said.

The ENB provincial administration said GRA was one of best implementing organisations in the country and in the Asia-Pacific region according to World Bank, and ENB was proud to have it as an accountable body to produce results and financial statements.
