Tenders for 9-Mile, Bulolo highway set for September

WORKS Minister Michael Nali on Friday announced in Wau, Morobe, that the tenders for the upgrading and sealing of 9-Mile to Bulolo Highway will be called in September.
The K66 million road rehabilitation programme is funded by a loan under the Australian government.
“The loan has been approved and funding is ready for the project to start,” Nali said.
“It will take about three years to complete this economic corridor road rehabilitation project.”
The announcement was made in conjunction with Prime Minister James Marape’s launching of millions of kina road worth of projects in Bulolo and Morobe on Friday, witnessed by ministers, Australian High Commissioner John Philp, department heads and the public in Wau.
The 9-Mile to Wau national highway will eventually connect to Waria local level government and finally to Central’s Goilala.
This is an initiative under by the Government under the connect PNG road programme to connect Lae and Port Moresby, .
This highway is aimed at connecting the northern part of the country to the southern part in an effort to open up economic corridors of the country.
