THE Kerema Rugby League select side will play trial matches at Terapo station in Malalaua, Gulf, next week.

The trials are supported by Gulf Governor and patron of Gulf Isapea, Havila Kavo, who will be in attendance.

Isapea board chairman Jacob Ivaroa confirmed the matches yesterday.

Ivaroa said out from the 34 players picked, selectors would name the final 25 players to meet the current Gulf Isapea in Kerema.

He said the Isapea would be captained by last year’s skipper Bernard Goma to stake their claims for spots in this year’s final squad.

“Two off the potential talents sighted were Ilave Sapea and Gerard Mauru,” Ivaroa said.

“Both were included in the Gulf Isapea training squad but did not make the final cut last season”.

“There are a lot of hidden talent that we want to develop and having these trials is a good way of achieving that.”

He said Governor Kavo was focused on helping develop the province’s sporting talents. Kavo has made funds and uniforms available for training and the trials.
