Thank you Justice Miviri

I COMMEND the National Court judge Justice Nicholas Miviri for his recent decision published yesterday’s The National “Court dismisses LO’s appeal”.
I support the court’s decision because for too long, unnecessary court cases have hindered equity and royalty payments for the landowners in Hiwa and Tuguba clans’ of Hides petroleum development license (PDL) 1 in Tari, Hela.
As an activist for Hela’s resources, I applaud Justice Miviri for his decision.
This is an opportunity for all landowners to come together to sort out issues of royalty payments for the Hiwa and Tuguba people.
My support for the court’s decision is based on an agreement in 1993 between the Hiwa and Tuguba people.
The two tribes entered into an agreement on July 7, 1993, which outlined the split percentage of 50-50 for resource owners in the area.
