THEODIST Ltd yesterday re-affirmed its annual sponsorship with the Papua New Guinea Olympic Committee with a backing of K50,000 towards Team PNG’s preparation and participation at the Paris Olympic Games.
Theodist corporate development manager Ryan Pini said the sponsorship was the company’s way of investing in the team’s potential to achieve greatness.
Meanwhile, Vodafone has signed a three-year partnership with PNGOC yesterday as Team PNG’s telecommunication partner, enabling athletes and officials to stay connected with their families and fans while competing overseas.
PNGOC secretary general Desmond Kaviagu said the telecommunication partnership was a game changer not only for the Olympic movement but big sporting events in the next three years including the Pacific Mini Games in Palau and Commonwealth Games.
Pini, who is the chef de mission for Team PNG for the Olympics, congratulated Gibson Mara for his qualification and Kevin Kassman, who is awaiting confirmation on his qualification status.
“At Theodoist, we firmly believe that sports have the power to shape lives, fostering invaluable qualities like perseverance, team work and the unwavering pursuit of goals,” said Pini.
“As Team PNG embarks on its journey to the Paris Olympic Games, this sponsorship is Thoedist’s way of investing in their potential to achieve greatness and inspire future generations across PNG. The path to the Olympics is paved with dedication and sacrifice. This sponsorship is our pledge to ensure our athletes have the support they need to overcome challenges and reach their ultimate dreams.”
Kaviagu thanked Theodist on behalf of the committee and Team PNG for their ongoing commitment.
“We’re thankful for the partnership support we’ve received annually from Theodist and this year’s sponsorship will go towards supporting Team PNG for the Olympic Games,” Kaviagu said during the presentation.
