There is no rush to pass women’s bill

THE current political turmoil has put a lot of pressure on Peter O’Neill and Sir Michael Somare as the stakes were too much to lose.
While this was going on, the women leaders were forcing MPs to pass the Equality and Participation Bill.
In my opinion, this bill is irrelevant at this point.
It is obvious that the women leaders are putting pressure on the MPs to pass the bill.
I have respect for my leaders but to see the women leaders pushing for it to be passed have given them the perception that they are hungry for power.
As such, I am not surprise to see the bill failing to muster the 73 votes it needed in two consecutive sittings.
